What actually happens on a site visit
Booking a measurement visit should not be a mystery. Here is each step, what we bring, what we ask, and what you get afterwards.

People hesitate to book a home visit because it is not clear what they are agreeing to. So here is the whole thing, plainly.
Before the visit
You book from the website and choose a date and a time slot. That date is a preference, not a confirmed appointment — our office calls you to agree a time that actually works, and only then is it confirmed. You get that call within 24 hours of booking.
If you are outside the areas we cover, we tell you at that point rather than letting you wait.
Who turns up
One of our measurement partners, with a metal tape, a sample folder and a phone for photographs. They will call before leaving so you are not waiting.
On site, in order
1. Look at the room. Which direction the windows face, where the light is harsh, where the furniture sits. Which wall you sit looking at matters more than the one behind you.
2. Measure every opening. Each window and door is measured individually — even two that look identical usually are not. These numbers replace whatever estimate you gave when booking.
3. Check what is already there. Existing rods, brackets, the wall material behind them. A hollow partition wall needs different fixings from brick, and it is much better to know before installation day than during it.
4. Show you samples. Fabric and paper look completely different in your own light. This is the part that changes most people's minds.
5. Talk through the practical bits. Whether you want the curtains to clear the floor, how you want them to open, whether a child or a pet changes what is sensible.
What we do not do
We do not cut, fit or install on the measurement visit, and nothing is ordered on the spot. Nobody should be asked to decide on materials for a whole home in one sitting.
Afterwards
The measurements and notes go back to our office. You get a quotation based on the real numbers, not the estimate — which is the entire point of the visit. If it needs adjusting, it is adjusted before anything is made.
What it costs
The measurement visit is free within our service area. Any fee shown at booking, if one is charged, is adjusted against your final order — it is not an extra charge on top.
